Maker of Wonderful Things
THE MOON, BLUE WATER , KENT
An internally illuminated moon rotates around a 60′ diameter ceiling enacting the phases of the moon and taking one month for each revolution. A concealed industrial conveyor track animates the moon.
Commissioned by Lend Lease Developments in 1999.
THE BRAYFORD WATER CHIMES
The sculpture is sited in the centre of Lincoln, next to the Brayford Pool.
A 26’ high rotating water clock, that chimes on the hour.
The whole of the top section rotates once an hour, like the minute hand of the clock.
Water flows constantly down the copper bowls and as the hour is reached the bowls are released which in turn tips the arms and chimes the bells.
At night a light beam shines down to the base showing the time.
Materials
The main structure is ‘T’ Washed galvanised mild steel, the column is graphite painted. The water bowls are spun copper and the bells are a brass/bronze alloy. Installed December 2001

The Worm.
Based on the story of the Lampton worm. The Worm is a 10m long articulated hydraulic arm that comes to life on the hour.
This was a choosen proposal for Chester Le Street, but never finally commissioned.
SHIPS MAST CLOCK, THE FITZCARRALDO THEATRE TOURING SHIP
A curved 25′ high galvanized steel structure designed to enhance the ship and to entertain on the hour. The clock erupts with whistles and fog horns sounding, smoke blows North, South, East and West from four jets. The crows nest rises revealing more smoke and two spinning gold fish, as they spin faster water squirts from their mouths, spiralling down onto the audience.
