Whipsnade Zoo

The giraffe display was built to fit into the Giraffe house at Whipsnade Zoo.
Giraffes eat the leaves, twigs and shoots from tall Savanna trees. They use their 18 inch long tongues to strip the leaves from the branches. The interactive displays shows the Giraffe pulling the leaves from the trees.
The Giraffe and accompanying scene were painted by the artist and illustrator Simon Manfield.
